How to Travel Like Jen

In a recent People article, the reporter talked about celebrities and their travel accommodations.  Some of them hardly ever stand in security lines, whereas countless Americans can wait for hours.  Not every airport offers the VIP treatment, some insist in "regular" treatment.  Jennifer Aniston is one celebrity who travels with accommodations everywhere she goes.  Just recently she was seen surrounded by security guards as she left LAX, for fear of being trampled by a crowd of adoring fans.  Many airlines respect the celebrity's privacy and do their best to protect them, but there are others who tip off the paparazzi, just to earn a buck.  It's really unfortunate for celebrities when they are going on vacation and are unexpectedly mobbed by a swarm of fans.  They're trying to take a break from work just like everyone else, but because of their public status, it is almost impossible.  They need the extra security and even though it's insane, sometimes the extra push through the security line.  I feel that without their "special treatment" we could be standing in the security line for a veryyyy long time as people endlessly approach, demanding autographs.

Part of me is sympathetic to what celebrities go through when they are not on the red carpet or in the direct spotlight, but another part of me thinks its pathetic that this machine that has developed around the celebrity is so complex that its infringing on daily lives of regular Americans. It seems ridiculous that celebrities should get special treatment wherever they go, and no matter what they're doing, they have bodyguards, paparazzi, and "adoring fans" close behind them. What kind of culture is this that so worships people who started out as ordinary? We become wrapped up in the celebrity culture that is NOTHING like real life. Its hard to sympathize with celebrities when they are bombarded in public places- it comes with the job. They're rich enough have enough privileges that I can't possibly feel bad for anyone trying to escape celebrity culture-even for a vacation.

I think it is a good idea that some celebrities get this special treatment. They can't help it that if they are seen in public they will have swarms of people surrounding them, especially celebrities like Jennifer Aniston. It would become so chaotic in the airport that the lines would move very slowly and people could potentially miss their flights. While celebrity culture may have gotten out of hand, they can't help the fact that they have fans who would go crazy if they saw them.

I wish I had special treatment at the airport! Those check-in and security lines are absolutely horrible and it makes traveling just really suck. But I think it’s good that Jennifer has “special treatment.” If I were a celebrity, there is no way in hell that I would go to the airport without special arrangements. Also, we need to think about her history with Brad Pitt and how fans are going to ask her questions about him and it could still be a sensitive subject for Jen. So I believe that if celebs have special arrangements while traveling, it’s a good idea because they aren’t “normal” people. Good for her that she only flies with special arrangements. And shame on the airport workers who tip of the paparazzi!

While looking at the scheme of things I don't agree with anyone getting special treatment over the next person, but I think this issue is something that affects the safety of Jennifer and every ordinary citizen trying to make their way through the busy airport. The paparazzi can be ruthless, especially around high profile celebrities, and the fact is if these companies didn't give them "special treatment" there would probably end up being a whole lot of chaos causing distress for both jen..and more importantly US!
